Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an entry level Facilities Project Technician in maintenance department you will have various positions that can range from facility maintenance and repair of buildings.  

II. Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
• Performs Preventative Maintenance on Facilities supported equipment as assigned verbally and via the Fixx PM Program assignments. 
• Self-prioritization of daily assignments and workflow to optimize efficiency and individual effectiveness
• Good working knowledge of the Fixx System – open, adding documentation and closures. 
• Regular daily inspections of buildings and grounds for appearance, cleanliness, and safety. Observations are to be entered into the Fixx System for proper documentation and tracking. 
• Troubleshoot and repair of moderately complex facility mechanical systems for malfunctions 
• Re-mediates any ice or snow accumulations at building’s entrances and on campus steps, sidewalks, walkways, paths, or parking lots – shoveling and salt applications. 
• Monitor, repair and/or replace light fixtures, light bulbs, ballasts, etc. (as required) throughout the campus (inside and outside grounds). 
 
REQUIRED SKILLS:

High school diploma / GED or combined experience and knowledge 3 to 5-years work experience in a facility repair capacity within a manufacturing environment
Measure and calculate angles, lengths, and volumes. 
• Design, lay out, and prepare sketches for building and related construction jobs. 
• Estimate necessary materials and equipment to complete assignments. 
• Prepare basic records and reports. 
• Read and interpret manuals, specifications, drawings, and blueprints.
• Understand, interpret, and apply all pertinent laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures, and standards relevant to work performed. 
• Independently organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow-up on assignments. 
• Effectively use computer systems, software applications relevant to work performed, and modern business equipment to perform a variety of work tasks. 
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, using appropriate English grammar and syntax. 
• Establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. 
• Must have the ability to climb steps and ladders, bend, stoop, push / pull, and lift 50 pounds on a routine basis. 
• Forklift license certification

NICE TO HAVES, BUT NOT REQUIRED:

Operation and maintenance of a wide variety of hand, power, and shop tools and equipment / meters common to the fields of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and others.
