Job Description
Base Assembly
Hours: 6:00am-4:30pm Mon-Thurs (Fri as needed)
Pay Rate: $15.50/hr.
Summary:
Shop/Carpenter skills for the crate base assembly area. Finish work a plus, as it would allow them to work in another area as well
Responsibilities:
- Use carpentry skills and various tools to produce wooden products
- Work experience rather than hobby experience preferred
- Schedule regular equipment and tool maintenance and schedule repairs when needed
- Perform quality assurance checks, inspecting for product quality
- Ensure that the workspace is clean and neat
- Other duties assigned by supervisor or lead
Requirements:
- Prior experience in one of the following: manufacturing, production, assembly, machine operation, or material handling
- Ability to set up simple machines
- Print reading
- Must be dependable
Familiarity with wood working machinery and hand tools:
- Saws (table saws, band saws, miters saws)
- Sanders
- Planers
- Routers
- Tape
- Nail guns
- Drills
- Torque drivers
- Skill saws
Education:
- High School Diploma, GED, or higher level of education (preferred)
Things To Consider:
- Ability to understand verbal and written instruction
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Frequently lift 10 to 20lbs.
- Warehouse environment - noise, dust, occasional exposure to hot and cold temperatures
- Must operate equipment safely and wear specific PPE such as ear plugs, safety glasses, etc. as deemed necessary
