The Engineering Technician will report to the Manufacturing Manager for all aspects of technical engineering and support for those programs assigned, to win timely, appropriate and profitable orders coherent with the JTS Business Plan.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Complete all quality control build books, job travelers, and other supporting documentation.
• Support the development of manufacturing processes & procedures.
• Nest 2D CAD to support manufacturing operations and quoting activities.
• Create 3D geometry needed to develop components/systems specific to JTS products for design and manufacturing studies.
• Create 2D drawings needed to develop components/systems specific to JTS products for design, procurement, and manufacturing execution of prototypes and production.
• Support the assembly, production and/or modification of company products.
• Support product trials and evaluation, maintenance and support.
• Identify equipment and processes to be used to manufacture products.
• Operate tools and equipment in a safe and correct manner.
• Liaise with engineering and project management during product build.
• To support company activities at customer's or subcontractor’s facilities.
• Provide welding and fabrication assistance for projects as required.
• Install BLASTech seats as and where required.
• Troubleshoot and retrofit equipment at JTS or customer’s facility.
• Be aware of and act upon and report any health and safety issues.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and healthy environment in which to work.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
* 2+ years experience
• Familiar with Computer Aided Design. Experience with SolidWorks is an advantage
• Eligible for US Security Clearance to minimum SECRET.
• Relevant experience and qualifications in automotive engineering.
• Experience and appropriate qualifications in MIG/TIG Welding is an advantage.
• Recent experience with the US military on OIF / OEF, preferably with armored/military vehicles is an advantage.
• Good organizational skills.
NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT REQUIRED:
More experience than 2 years and any military background helpful.
