Job Description
The Doffer walks Extrusion and locates any lines that will doff during the shift, locates and arranges pin trucks, locates and places empty tubes on pin trucks, places yarn ID labels on running winders and doffs yarn. Yarn is weighed and trucks pushed to appropriate location. Waste yarn is burned off tubes as needed and waste is baled
as needed. Area must be left in clean and orderly condition for next shift. Safe working practices must be observed.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Walk entire Extrusion area to determine which machines will doff on the current shift
- Locate and arrange yarn pin trucks for doff
- Locate empty yarn tubes and place on trucks
- Walk lines and place Yarn ID labels on each running winder
- Doff yarn from winder to pin truck
- Push full trucks to scales, weigh and move to appropriate location
- Burn waste yarn off tubes as needed
- Collect and bale waste as needed
- Sweep and clean work area and leave in good condition for next shift
- Follow good safety practices at all times
- Deffer must complete any doffs started even if they extend into the next shift
- Use of Scissors, Utility Knife, Wrenches, Aspirator Doffing Gun/ Bag, Yarn Burning Blade, scales, baler.
- Manual Dexterity, good strength, physical endurance and hand / eye coordination.
- Able to work minimum of 8 hours of constant physical activity with only 40 minutes of personal time, OT as needed Able to tolerate temperature ranges from 65 to 100 degrees for a minimum of 8 hours
- Able to push / pull heavy objects with legs and back Good close vision, color vision
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand / eye coordination
- Lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly from winders to truck from floor level to 6 feet
- Must be able to bend at waist for 15 to 20 minutes while doffing a line and handling up to 25 pounds Department Head
