Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Operator prepares all materials and drawing dies by performing necessary machine set up and performing basic measurement control

  • Follow machine work instructions and company safety procedures

  • Perform quality checks and inform process manager of defects as necessary

  • Keep machine and work area clean by stacking empty and unused spools in the empty area

  • Make process adjustments with technician and manager if end-production fails laboratory tests

  • Check with the lab results of previous production and work successfully under all quality and productivity rules, making suggestions about quality, process, and productivity when necessary

  • Perform daily machine maintenance

  • High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education

  • Proven experience as a machine operator

  • Ability to operate overhead crane and basic hand tools

  • Strong knowledge of production procedures

  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Basic math skills

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Nice To Have, But Not Required:

  • Experience using warehouse vehicles such as forklift or overhead crane
Things To Consider:

  • Must operate equipment safely and wear specific PPE such as ear plugs, safety glasses, etc. as deemed necessary

  • Warehouse environment: constantly exposed to loud noise, hot and cold temperatures

  • Physically demanding position:

    • Ability to stand for long periods of time while completing tasks

    • Ability to reach, handle, climb, kneel, bend, etc. throughout the duration of shift

    • Ability to lift and move:

      • 10 to 20 lbs constantly

      • 20 to 50 lbs constantly

      • 50 (+) lbs occasionally (with assistance)

Job Requirements

carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions, operate an overhead crane and basic hand tools. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
