Shift:

3: 00pm– 11: 30pm M-F

Pay Rate:

$17-$19/hr. DOE

Summary
  1. Maintenance Technician serves as the primary in house technical and service technician to resolve related problems on a wide range of inserting machinery and printing equipment. Diagnoses electronic, mechanical, and software failures on all machinery. This job may include any aspect of hardware, electronic and some computer software. Provides technical support to the supervisors and operators on operational and maintenance aspects of our equipment. Determines the most cost-effective repair/resolution to minimize production downtime.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibility will be to troubleshoot and repair any of the machinery covered by maintenance at the company including inserters, folders and select parts of the printing machinery. Also, to aid the supervisors in set up issues to ensure production schedules stay on time.
  • Must be punctual and have good work ethic, including the ability to function unsupervised.
  • As needed, perform regular predictive/preventive maintenance inspections on equipment.
  • Provide feedback to the maintenance manager about machine issues so service can be scheduled.
  • Must manage any parts used from the inventory by properly writing them off.
  • When idle, contribute to offline projects such as rebuilding machinery or machine parts.
  • Will need to work overtime occasionally on weekends or to cover shifts.
  • May occasionally need to be on call 24/7 to help in busy times, to cover shifts or in an emergency breakdown.
  • Must follow rules pertaining to safety in the maintenance office/ workshop.

Education and Experience Required:
  • No education necessary if experienced in the electro/mechanical maintenance field.

Additional Skills:
  • Ability to use standard and specialized hand, power and diagnostic tools and measuring equipment such as a multi-meter, hand tools or power tools
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical machinery.
  • Good analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills; ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation, such as service manuals and electronic wiring diagrams.
  • Strong electronic/electrical knowledge a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires working extended hours as needed to fix equipment
  • Requires lifting to waist up to 70 pounds
  • Requires walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, reaching with arms and hands
  • Work is performed in a controlled manufacturing environment:
    • Paper dust may be present at times
    • Solvents such as Simple Green are used to clean the machinery
    • May need to work around moving machinery
