Job Description

Objective:
  • To provide quality effective parts while meeting production targets.

2.0         Nature and Scope:
2.1         Daily Duties include:
  • communicate with previous operator in regards to machine performance and production run during shift overlap
  • check and ensure proper tooling is at your work station
  • obtain empty steel and/or plastic totes for finish product
  • forward finish product to next operation
  • checking parts on gauges
  • check and ensure all fluid levels are full
  • ensure all proper documentation is at work station
  • perform SPC’s and in-process inspection, as instructed
  • record daily occurrences in Log Book
  • ensures work area is neat and orderly
  • operate your  work area as specified in Work Instructions and as laid out by the Production Supervisor
  • continually checking and monitoring the process at your work center in order to ensure the highest quality of each part manufactured at your station is in accordance with specifications and inspection procedures
  • comply with all applicable company policies and procedures
  • ensure daily and weekly maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned

2.2         Communication:
  • Provide accurate and timely information to your Supervisor/Management.
  • Provide information on machine performance as required to co-workers, Supervisor, maintenance and management.

2.3         Employee Relations:
  • Work effectively with co-workers, supervisor and management.
  • Be co-operative in all your dealings with fellow employees.

2.4         Training and Development:
  • Participate in training as required to maintain and enhance skill level.
  • Assist in the training and development of new employees.
  • Work in conjunction with Lead Hand/Supervisor to identify training needs.

2.5         Environmental, Health and Safety:
  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
  • Follow company Environmental, Health & Safety policy.
  • Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or worn:
  • safety shoes,
  • safety glasses,
  • hearing protection (is not required but available upon request).
  • Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to your Lead Hand/Supervisor immediately.
  • Report to Environmental, Health & Safety Representative (EHSR) any breach of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations or Company policy.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

3.0         Organizational Relationship:
  • Reports to the Production Supervisor.
  • Interacts with supervisor, set-up personnel, maintenance workers and co-workers.

4.0         Performance Measurement:
  • Degrees to which above specifications are met.
  • Degree to which you contribute to continuous improvement of the Company.
  • Employee Performance Review.

5.0         Background and Qualifications:
  • Minimum Grade 12 education, preferred.
  • Capable of trouble shooting basic problems.
  • 3 years related work experience, preferred.
  • Basic Math skills.
  • Basic Knowledge of SPC
  • Capable of reading blueprints and gauges
  • Positive attitude towards new ideas.
