Project Specialist

Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm Mon-Fri
Pay: $15/hr.

SUMMARY:
  • Reports to Management-Sales,
  • This position is responsible for sales support, research, purchasing, logistics and shipping (in/out) process, process activities with customer purchase orders through the TE Sales Order process, Quantum processing and input, answering phones and business support for sales, operations, finance, and management as needed.
  • Work closely with sales in processing quote forms under direction from Sales. Also, this position will attend to the upkeep of daily tasks in both sales and business support in all aspects of sales and marketing including social media platforms, web site etc.
  • Support in Import/Export and working in both military and commercial sectors. Attention to customer and vendor needs to ensure the highest level of quality and customer service both externally and internally through the practice of coordination with the company support groups and customer relations.
  • The position will utilize telephones, electronic mail (e-mail), and facsimile messages, memos, and internal systems.
  • Adheres to corporate code of conduct to ensure highest ethical standards are met.
  • Any special aviation training and experience will also be utilized in support of all company activities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding sales & research support goals for business needs.
  • Respond to management requests for support in all business areas.
  • Work with vendors to achieve customer needs.
  • Contact new and existing customers as required by supervisor.
  • Follow up with projects and customers.
  • Process quotes, sales orders, purchase orders and other system needs.
  • Presenting new ideas and solutions to problems to support the success of the company.
  • Answering phones.
  • Support Sales, Finance, Quality and Operations as needed.
  • Support Web Site changes, social media platforms.
  • Maintains files of activity’s assigned.
  • Extensively utilizes a variety of office communications including, but not limited to, telephones, electronic mail (e-mail), and facsimile machines.
  • Keeps superior informed of activity and information through weekly written reports.
  • May periodically make progress reports to staff utilizing various presentation media such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Windows Movie Maker, Adobe Acrobat, and the like.
  • Maintains adequate knowledge of company operations, including all department procedures, quality control manual, and other functions as directed
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
GENERAL:
  • Clerical skills, office machine operation, and office procedures obtained in lower level classifications. Minimum typing skills of 45 words per minute using a personal computer and typing general memoranda. Must be proficient with Company’s word processing and spreadsheet software, as well as e-mail system, telephone system, and facsimile equipment. In-depth experience with company’s customer database software and purchasing system.
  • Courtesy, mature judgment, and effectiveness essential in providing diversified services for department and plant personnel. Substantial telephone or personal contact with outside personnel in conjunction with sales and marketing of products.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of departmental and plant organization including administrative routines.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and management officials.
  • Must possess superior speaking skills to convey information effectively and possess the ability to persuade others.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry.

CUSTOMER AND PERSONAL SERVICE:
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

REASONING ABILITY:
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
