Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
  • Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services. 
  • Measure product dimensions, examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications. 
  • Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control. 
  • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records. 
  • Label containers, container tags, or products, completed items for shipment or storage. 
  • Perform final quality check on product and prepare items for shipment. 
  • Measure and count products and materials.  
  • Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
  • Monitor line for problems or defects in material.
  • Conduct and sign off on hourly line check sheet. (GEM)
  • Requires operation of forklift, panel saw, vacuum lift, and other devices related to process. 
  • Properly package materials and products by hand and use of hand tools, glues, nails and padding, etc.
  • Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.  
  • Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them in specified areas such as loading docks. 
  • Seal containers or materials, using glues, fasteners, straps, and hand tools. 
  • Load materials and products into package processing equipment. 
  • Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers, using hand tools.
  • Maintain records of approved and defective units or final products.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Maintain activity logs.
  • Perform Safety Inspections. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Compliance with safety standards.
  • Must be able to use hand tools, adhesives, padding and other products to protect product.
  • May be required to operate powered industrial equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work area
  • Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Move or lift heavy objects
  • Ability to determine color and inspect product for variations/defects required. 
  • Basic mathematics skills required.
  • Ability to keep up machinery, ability to do small to moderate adjustments on machinery.
  • Perform repetitive tasks in assembly setting
  • Ability to read a work order, instructions, packing slip or processing charts.
  • Critical Thinking/Problem solving/trouble shooting ability required.
NICE TO HAVES, BUT NOT REQUIRED:
  • Basic computer knowledge preferred. 
  • 2 years plastics extrusion experience preferred. (GEM)
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
  • Punctual attendance to work is required. 
  • Ability to distinguish color. 
  • Good hand dexterity, hearing, and vision are considered essential. 
  • A moderate to high degree of repetitive motions using right, left, or both hands and/or feet may also be required. 
  • Moderate to steady lifting of up to 50lbs. required. 
  • Requires wearing personal protective equipment. 
  • Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes from hot to cold, dust, dirt and chemicals. 
  • Requires working indoors in non-climate controlled conditions.
